The Lycée Français de Séoul launched its bilingual program in September 2009 with its Moyenne and Grande Section classes. In September 2010, CP and CE1 classes were added, followed by CE2 and CM1 classes in September 2011 and CM2 in September 2012. For the start of the 2013 school year, the bilingual program will then be offered at all levels of the primary school, with the exception of Petite Section in kindergarten, which will offer a bilingual teaching in parallel with its classic program. The procedure applied for the start of the 2013 school year takes into account the experience of the 4 years of bilingual programs offered thus far at the LFS to best meet the needs of the students, the family projects, and the reality of staffing, while remaining faithful to the heterogeneity of the two sections: bilingual and classic. This brochure summarizes the registration procedure for the bilingual program at the primary level. You may consult with the secretary of the LFS if you wish to see the complete version. The registration for the bilingual program of the Lycée Français de Séoul is based on two evaluations :
The evaluation procedure does not aim to assess which are the best students, but to establish a thorough list of all those whom, in terms of skills and capacity, could be eligible for the bilingual program. Should the final, objective list not present any issues affecting registration in the bilingual program, a lottery will be undertaken if necessary, allowing the establishment of a definitive list of students to join the bilingual program for the next school year. Students already enrolled in the school take priority over new students. This procedure does not apply to students already registered in the bilingual program.
