2. Invoicing 2.1. Breakdown of school fees They represent: 2.1.1. In the primary school (kindergarten and elementary)
- School stationeries distributed to every student at the start of the school year (the purchase of small stationery items: pens, glue, is to be made by the family)
- School field trips and educational projects (a supplementary fee may be required for certain activities).
- School insurance: local insurance coverage acquired by the French School of Seoul (accident and civil liability) for students and teachers covers the risks within the framework of the activities of the school only; this insurance does not cover travel from of the place of residence to the school or vice versa.
Classes that are cancelled for whatever reason are not subject to any refund. 2.1.2. In the middle school (college) and the high school
- The loan of textbooks (stationery purchases are made by the families)
- School field trips and educational projects (a supplementary fee may be required for certain activities)
- School insurance: local insurance coverage acquired by the French School of Seoul (accident and civil liability) for students and teachers covers the risks within the framework of the activities of the school only; this insurance does not cover travel from of the place of residence to the school or vice versa.
- Classes that are cancelled for whatever reason are not subject to any refund.
2.2. First registration fee This is a one-time payment owed for every student at the time of the first registration at the school, upon acceptance of pre-registration. Final validation of registration is guaranteed upon receipt of payment of this fee. Returning alumni who will have left the school for a prolonged period longer than or equivalent to 12 months are subject to new (First) registration. 2.3 Mandatory cafeteria fees They concern:
- The cafeteria on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for the kindergarten and elementary students.
- The cafeteria from Monday to Friday for middle and High school students.
The cafeteria meals on Wednesdays (from PS to CM2) are reserved for those students whose parents both work or who live outside the district of Seocho; registration must be made for the year or per term without exception; separate invoicing. 2.4. School bus A single line connecting the Embassy of France to the school, by way of Itaewon, Yongsan and Hannam Dong. Before registration, make sure that there is space available and to reserve it with the accounting dep’t. 2.5. Founder's share The Founder’s Share will no longer be charged from the 2012-2013 school year and previously effected payments will be refundable in the month of the departure of the student. 2.6. Advance payment of Baccalaureate (High School Diploma) fees Students will take the examinations for the High School Diploma in Tokyo. The advance payment of related fees serves to cover the expenses of registration for the examination as well as the costs of transport and accommodation. Final invoicing occurs after the examinations. 2.7. Discount A 10 % discount on school fees is given to those families with three or more children registered at the school. This discount applies only to the annual school fees and excludes the additional annual school fees for the bilingual classes and the European section. 2.8. Rebate for payment in full A rebate of 2 % on annual school fees is applied if the payment of these fees is made at one time, in full, prior to the beginning the of the new school year: September 1st, 2012. This rebate applies only to the annual school fees and excludes the additional annual school fees for the bilingual classes and the European section. 3. MODALITIES OF PAYMENT 3.1. Principle The payment of fees is the responsibility families and the totality of the due amount must be settled before the start of the school year. In the event of default, the child will not be accepted in class. 3.2. Invoicing and means of payment All fees are payable in Korean won (KRW) only. Payment must be made in solely in Korean won (KRW) by bank transfer. No payment in cash will be accepted. Please note: the banking fees are entirely assumed by the families. Please ensure thus that all transfer payments take into account these additional charges. Bank reference for transfer :

Special dispensation In case of difficulty in making payment of the total invoiced amount at the start of the school year (in autumn), it is possible to write to the Management Council before June 15th, 2012, requesting special dispensation. Notification of the council’s decision will be received before July 1st, 2012. Pending a favourable decision, the payment of annual school fees must be made in three instalments: 1st payment, at the latest on September 1st 2012, 1/3 2nd payment, at the latest on January 1st, 2013, 1/3 3rd payment, at the latest on April 1st, 2013, 1/3 The following payments must be settled regardless: - The First registration fee, at the time of the acceptance of pre-registration by the school. - The school bus before the start of the school year in September. Parents who do not respect the schedule of payment of instalments for the 2012-2013 school year will not obtain any further dispensation. Students receiving grants from the French State or awaiting the decision of the State Commission on grants, please refer to paragraph 3.7. 3.4. Delay in payment In case of delay in payment; penalties equal to 2 % per month of the sum remaining due will be applied. In case of non-payment during an entire term, the child will not be accepted at the school the next term. 3.5. Departure during the course of the school year In the event of the departure of a student during the course of the school year, only the fees covering the terms that have not yet begun will be refunded. In the event of a force majeure/superior or irresistible force, which would result in the early departure of one or several students, the school will offer no refund, and the unpaid school fees will remain owed by the family. The force majeure/superior or irresistible force, is defined as any event such as war, civil war, civil unrest, pandemic, or extreme weather conditions, which cannot be reasonably foreseen or controlled, and which would have a disastrous effect on the financial situation of the school. This policy is necessary for the financial stability of the institution and serves to allow the school to resume its normal operations as soon as such an event has ended. 3.6. Registration during the course of the school year When a student is registered during the course of a term, payment for the current term and the following ones are owed in full. The admission of the child in class will be possible only upon payment of the charged amounts. A possible spreading of payments follows the same rules as those described in the paragraph 3.3. 3.7. School grants/scholarships Grants and scholarships at any level and/or coverage of the costs of schooling (classes of 2nde, 1ere and Terminal) may be obtained for French students, according to the current rules in France (application file to be collected at the consulate of the Embassy of France). For grant/scholarship candidates, the families are exempted from payment of the Founder’s share and are required to settle the part of the school fees not covered by the grant/scholarship. Families awaiting an answer from the commission on grants/scholarships are exempted from payment of the Founder’s share until the decision of the commission is received (in December or March). In case the request is refused, the Founder's share is to be paid in full. School fees (including the First registration fee) are to be paid from the beginning of the school year in September at the rate of 10 % a month until the decision of the commission is received.
