CAFETERIA & SUPPLIES

Lycée Français de Séoul (LFS) provides students with school meals and transportation services run by professionals. We aim to ensure students benefit from the best possible environment for their well-being throughout their school day.

WELL-BALANCED FRENCH MEALS IN A REFURBISHED CAFETERIA

Mandatory Canteen Registration:

  • September: All kindergarten and elementary students must register for canteen from Monday to Friday. Middle and high school students must register for all weekdays. On Wednesdays, it’s required for students in the SIA program.
  • All year on Wednesdays: Required for students using the school bus.

Optional Canteen Registration:

  • From October:
    • Kindergarten and elementary students can choose to eat at the canteen every day or not at all, with no changes allowed during the year.
    • Middle school and Seconde students can also choose to eat every day or not at all.
    • Premiere and Terminale students can choose specific days for lunch, but the choice is fixed for the whole year.

Children enjoy healthy, nutritionally balanced food and a traditional, quality French meal every day. Because education also involves learning about taste and dietary balance, a country-themed menu is featured once a month and Korean cuisine is served twice a month.

Menus are designed by the School Lunch Committee in which a dietician, the school nurse and representatives of students, staff and parents participate. The meals are all prepared on site by our caterer  CJ Freshway.  You can find the menus online via the Pronote app.

Note: parents should report food allergies to the nurse who liaises with the meal services staff and teachers. A nut-free policy is followed in all our catering provision for the health and safety of all our students.

A cafeteria was recently renovated in 2018 into a space dedicated and for the service adapted to the various age groups. Kindergarten students have their meals served at the table on a tray. CP (grade 1) and older students serve themselves with a choice of two starters and two main courses available daily. Education assistants (AED) are present throughout the meal to assist the students.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND BOOKS

In primary school, supplies are made available free of charge in class, with the exception of the pencil case and its contents for the CP to CM2 (grade 1 to 5) students. Only a spare bag is required in kindergarten; a school bag and a kit (including small supplies: pens, glue, colored pencils, pencils, scissors, etc.) are to be brought to elementary school from CP to CM2.

In secondary school, a list of required supplies and reading materials, such as literary works or fiction, is prepared by each teacher and communicated in June. Parents can order school supplies to be delivered to LFS in time for back to school directly from the LDE website. These orders are distributed at the beginning of the school year.

For the LFS parents, you can find the list of school supplies & textbooks and the LDE ordering instructions on EDUKA Documents, after signing into your parent’s account.

During the year, supplies are available for purchase via Student Affairs Office: viescolaire@lfseoul.org.

Textbooks are borrowed from the school at the beginning of the school year and are to be handed back at the end of the school year.

SPORTS UNIFORMS, DESIGNED BY STUDENTS

There is no LFS school uniform but students must wear the sports uniforms in LFS school colors, mandatory for students from elementary to high school.

The sports uniforms are outsourced by the company World School. The order and purchase can be made directly to the company.

For the LFS parents, you can find the World School ordering guide on EDUKA Documents, after signing into your parent’s account.
