As the grade 9 (3è) class project, our students first chose 10 words on the theme of ‘air.’ After researching about its meaning, students associated a synonym or antonym to each chosen word with the same number of letters. Continuing this work in art class, they illustrated the word’s meaning and the associated words using pen and paper. They then illustrated their work on a vintage and yellow-looking paper but in front of a computer. This represented that, while ours digital tools are the ferryman/conductor/tunnel of time and passage of the ‘spirit’ between different eras, but the essence of our communication are words. Our era, finally!
Students then selected and read aloud poems from different eras while reflecting on the ‘air’ that crosses time. The final production is a virtual museum, a choice that imposed itself during the many reflections regarding ‘air.’
Bravo once again to our students and teachers for this thought-provoking work! Enjoy!
